Application method

For the application of decorative plaster Travertine it does not require perfect aligning for painting, because it is applied thick enough and allows you to hide minor flaws in the preparation of the wall. So it can be applied even on the starting plaster. Prior to application, clean the surface from dirt and dust, remove loose grounds and prime the walls with special primer based on silica sand. The use of such prime allows creating a rough surface, which provides durable adhesion of the coating to the basis. Before applying the material is polished into the selected color and mixed thoroughly. After drying, the silica-prime one can start the applying of the decorative plaster.
Step 1: The application is made with a metal spatula or trowel. As drying, it is produced so-called “crashing” into the desired direction with different rates and sizes. This is done to give to the coating the texture which is specific for travertine.
Step 2: Then, the surface is smoothed and polished a little bit in order to avoid chalking. After drying, the coating can be left, such as it is, or perform brick jointer on the blocks.
Step 3: To enhance the decorative effect and protection from moisture, coating plaster is coated with colorless wax which is rubbed with special glove or marine sponge.
